Vintage Notes:
With the new vintage comes a new vineyard. Phillip’s 2011 Semillon was sourced from the Lovedale region within the Hunter Valley; this single vineyard Semillon has all the expression of its land and vines. The classic Semillon characteristics are evident, vibrant citrus and passionfruit aromas matched with a powerful fruit driven palate, structurally bound and focused.
The wine was kept on gross lees post fermentation to encourage textural palate weight, whilst adding layers to the already fruit complexity. Phillip’s philosophy is to encapsulate the freshness and vibrancy of the fruit, so your first sip will take you to the vineyard!
93/100 Nick Stock, The Good Wine Guide 2012 Very fine citrus nose on this young Semillon from this newly hatched label - Phil LeMessurier has delivered a cracker. The palate is scintillatingly crisp, full of zesty citrus fruit and finishing clean, tight and dry: just a hint of white nectarine to close. Give it some time.
$28.00 in any mixed six $25.00 by the straight dozen.
