Vintage Notes:
From a single vineyard in Stonewell where the soil is sandy loam over a limestone base (blonde in colour). Always showing perfume and jube-like blue fruits, this vineyard crops naturally at around 1.5 tonne to the acre. The final blend contains 2% co-fermented viognier for colour, lift and vibrancy. Alex uses wild yeasts from the vineyard during fermentation to help convey the true character of the vineyard in the wine.
Deep crimson and purple colours. On the nose; blood plum, blue fruits and pomegranate, cinnamon spice, vanilla cream and incense. The entrance is typically plump and soft with Christmas pudding flavours at the core. Sweet fruit derived tannins dominate the smooth finish. Drink 2012-2027.
